The Concerts at the church of Saint Eustache are well known to Parisians. The church of Saint Eustache is located 300 meters from the Relais des Halles and is worth a visit.
The history marks this building. Richelieu and Molière were baptized here, Lully got married here, La Fontaine and Colbert were buried here, Louis XIV made his first communion here, Mozart buried his mother here, Berlioz conducted his Te Deum here…
Built on the site of a modest chapel, a new church was built under François I in 1532. Its construction lasted a century. The facade was rebuilt from 1754, integrating in its architecture mixtures then disputed. It was never completed.
Saint Eustache Church in 1661
The first organ of Saint Eustache dates from the 16th century. It was reworked, destroyed, rebuilt, reworked several times, the last one in 1989. Only the case is original. The organ has 101 stops and 8000 pipes. It is the second largest organ in France after that of Notre Dame de Paris. It is equipped with two consoles, one of which is mobile, allowing the organist to play in the nave. This is particularly interesting during concerts, because you can see the organist 3 meters away from you, which is rare for an organ of this importance.

Every Sunday at 5:00 p.m., the parish programs performances by the titular organists, Thomas Ospital and Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard, as well as by other guests. The concerts are free. Come at about 4:45 p.m. to sit by the console. The concerts last about three quarters of an hour.

Mélodie Michel at the Cathedral of Nîmes in July 2022, where she played Finale by Louis Vierne. Complex composition and difficult interpretation, taken up by this young organist.
Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard (co-owner of the organ at St Eustache) will play Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Wagner and Louis James Alfred Lefébure-Wély on March 19th 2023.

Born 17 years ago, the Festival is a project supported by the Parish of Saint Eustatius. The festival presents this year about fifteen artists. Folk, rock, electro, sacred music mix during 36 hours. The entrance is free.
